Tigerwood Snare Drum

Started on September 10, 2024; completed on February 19, 2025

The blocks for this snare drum was cut at the same time when I cut the Purple Heart. I generally do not want to have too many projects on the go at the same time as customer instruments do come in here and there.

But I can finally get back to this snare drum project now (October 3, 2024). While I was sanded the blocks to their final heights, I was noticing possibly some tiger figure in the wood. If these pop during the finishing, this may turn out to be visually eye-catching.

This build waited for a few months for hardware to be ordered. A few other projects came in and money needed to go into other things first.

Eventually hardware was ordered and strainer kits had to be sent back and new ones ordered in the end.

The snare drum looks really good. Just need to hear how it sounds.
