D’Addario Eclipse tuner

After having a few of those Snark tuners for a few years, I want to say that they seem to go through batteries quite quickly.

I have found a battery to last only about 3-4 weeks before the screen is dim to the point where you don’t have a choice but to replace the battery. This is actually with little use on the tuner as well – and I literally mean that I am using the Snark a handful of times before I get to that point of changing the battery.

I was initially using dollar store batteries and thought it was a “getting what you paid for” situation. Eventually, I went and bought Energizer batteries and ran into the same issue. Dim screen in about 3-4 weeks.

Since then, I have purchased myself a few of the D’Addario rechargeable Eclipse tuners. Being a new product that I am using, I can’t really compare battery life to the Snark in a long term sense but I like the D’Addario tuner so far.

I even have a few customers that switched to that clip-on tuner and like it a lot as well.

It does have an auto off feature – I believe it is about 10 minutes ..or 5.. not sure. It does turn off on me while I am in the middle of doing a setup or something which can be a little annoying but I do believe it is a good feature to have.
