Started on September 22, 2025, completed on October 15, 2025<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An idea of using cut off pieces to build an actual guitar with. Seemed simple enough until I really thought about it – cuts would need to really bang on for the pieces to fit together and that is still an issue with the saws I have. The accuracy not precise enough to make those needed cuts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I tired using a bunch of cut off pieces from sides that were shaped already. Gluing them together didn’t work out very well as some of the bends were on an angle so things didn’t line up too well. I may still try to attempt a neck with cutoff pieces at this point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Parlour guitar was decided on this build even though I really wanted to make an Orchestra Model with Redwood that is right handed. A left handed version is already built and the sound is impressive with long sustain on the guitar. A right handed modern Parlour and classical is needed to have a full “set” in the modern guitar lineup. So a Parlour guitar it is!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A set of Spruce was used for the soundboard as I don’t know how this guitar will turn out. With the failure of gluing strips together for the sides, I will use a set of Black Walnut. I generally don’t like using a tonewood that has been recently used for a build but I have a few sets that I got at a good price. Actually the Spruce and Black Walnut sets were purchased from the same luthier in the summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The neck for this guitar will be a bunch of cut off pieces I keep getting from making necks. There are always some solid pieces that are left over from cutting one piece necks and I haven’t found much use for them so they just pile up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After gluing up the pieces to make a neck, a few ideas had come up to make it better and more visually appealing. Another multi-tonewood neck will possibly be tried again in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another thing I was trying to attempt was to make a pinless bridge setup. It did fail as I am in seeing that the holes would need to be drill on an angle. The string on the ball end side gets thicker and has less give. Some trial and error.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end of it, I realized that I forgot to drill out for the sound ports. Upon looking inside to see where the side braces were placed, it looks like doing sound ports should have been planned ahead of time so a back up plate can be installed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
