It will be good that when this guitar is done, left handed players will have the availability to try all three different sizes.

And just recently, I had brought one of my Parlour guitars to one of the local luthiers in Thunder Bay to evulate. He said that it sounded pretty good and even compared it to a Parlour guitar that he owned. They actually sounded quite similar when played one after another which was a good sign. I was told that I needed to work on the finish which was something I already knew.

This Parlour has Canarywood for the back and sides – a new set of tonewoods that I had recently purchased. It has a good visual appeal – it is mostly a yellow colour with thin streaks of orange and red. I have seen it many times and finally decided to purchase a set to try.

A set of Engelmann Spruce was chosen for the soundboard. It is always hard to chose Engelmann for a soundboard as it is more for a player with a lighter touch. Without a person to specifically build a guitar for, it is always just easier to use Sitka or Adirondack.

From what I did have in stock, I went with the Turkish Walnut piece with the Bloodwood laminated into it. I actually wanted to use Ash for some reason but maybe using Ash would keep the guitar too light coloured.

With having the neck wood chosen, Marblewood quickly popped into mind for the fingerboard tonewood.
